LRCCS Director Mary Gallagher was recently quoted by Northwest Asian Weekly regarding an historic meeting between PRC president Xi Jinping and ROC president Ma Ying-jeou. This was the first meeting of its kind in over 60 years.

“The big question going forward is whether this meeting will change how Taiwanese view the mainland. Will this meeting improve the chance of further rapprochement under the next administration, which is almost surely to be under the DPP?”
