With all the recent media hype about alleged currency wars with the Chinese Yuan, LRCCS faculty associate Professor Linda Lim has been featured in various media surrounding the issue.  In one article, written by Professor Lim for The Straits Times, she encourages readers to not believe the media hype:

What is happening is not indicative of an emerging markets “currency war”, as many have surmised. Instead, it was an intervention to let the yuan move in tandem with the market.

Professor Lim was also quoted in the World Journal, the biggest Chinese language newspaper in North America:

此外,林愿清強調,政府不要干預股市,目前事實顯示,政府越干預,情況越糟。(Translation: Professor Lim stressed that government should not interfere in stock markets. The reality of the current situation is the more the government intervenes, the worse the situation becomes.)
